Afiya’s reputation for effectiveness is growing among policy makers and public sector providers alike. Members of the community, community groups and organisations are equally encouraging in their feedback about Afiya’s coordinating role.

placeholderAs a result, the charity has brought together a broad base of black and minority ethnic experts to collectively compose a coherent BME response to various government initiatives that affect our communities.

Through its partnership approach, Afiya has also gained the confidence and trust of both BME and mainstream voluntary and statutory organisations. The charity has been empowered by BME communities and organisations to represent their views through our many networks covering long term conditions, carers and service users.

The Afiya Trust is a national charity that works to reduce inequalities in health and social care provision for people from racialised communities. Find out about the local and national networks we support. We liaise and work with central government departments and policymakers to ensure the BME perspective isn’t lost. Visit Our Work, Policy and Campaigns sections to find out more.
